Q & A

What components make up a good team?

There are several attributes:

  • Strong leadership is hugely important. Prior to coming to CRI, I was a Senior Manager of a call center, and that was where I realized that a team is only as strong as its leader.
  • Clear goals and objectives and having an understanding of what the goal is going to accomplish.
  • Communication and having it with both internal and external customers.

What are a few critical traits a client should look for in a prospective relocation management company?

  • Expertise in the field. Besides their experience, how long has the company been around? What kind of expertise can they show me? What kind of comprehensive services can they offer? Do they offer full suite relocation services that are tailored to meet the client’s needs?

  • A customer-centric approach. They should be able to demonstrate a strong commitment to customer service and focus on understanding and addressing every client’s unique needs, because not every client is going to be the same.

There is such great communication on my team and we all have clear goals on what we should be doing. We all handle different things, and we’re very well versed on what the other person is doing and what we need from them to complete our jobs.

If you could go anywhere, where would you relocate to?

I currently live in Liberty Hill, Texas, but I eventually would love to move to Flower Mound or Dallas or the area around there. My kids keep me rooted where I am right now, but once they graduate, I’ve thought about moving for sure.

Although it’s farfetched and not necessarily aligned with my career goals, I’d love to move somewhere out of the country — either Italy or Australia. They just seem like exciting places to live.

What’s either the best advice you’ve ever received or worst advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice: “Embrace continuous learning.”

My mentor, Janet Laird, has always said to continue to learn — to just embrace it and don’t stop. You can always educate yourself on something, whether it’s with the job that you do now or something you’re looking to do, or even just something you want to be. Have that knowledge regardless of the stage of life you’re in. Be open to adapting to change and always be seeking growth opportunities.

Tell us something you’re excited about

Continuing to grow at CRI. I’m excited to be a part of this company. I’m also excited to see CRI itself grow, and so far, I think I’m part of that growth.

On a personal level, I’m excited about my kids’ sports! I have three boys and they all play different things — my two younger sons play baseball and the oldest one plays basketball so they definitely keep me busy!
